5D Chess
This game made my brain hurt.
Okay. I’ll be frank. I’m not very good at chess. I’m sure if I tried - and tried and tried and tried - I’d be passable at it, but as it stands, I’m terrible at chess.
This game is not chess. This game is if you took chess, told it that if beefed itself up to titan levels it could have its heart’s desire, fulfilled the promise, and made and fulfilled that same promise to chess four more times.

5D chess takes chess and adds the ability to time travel and skip dimensions. A piece that starts playing one board might jump to five more boards before returning to the original board to do shenanigans. It is mind-numbingly complex. I’ve lost every game I’ve played, and I’m still not sure why, how, or what I could have done to prevent it.
I love it.

I am unlikely to ever understand this game, or being any good at it at all, but I can understand that it adds an element and dimensionality to chess that is interesting and fantastic. There’s a complexity that’s fun to play with, and for those who are actually good at chess, I suspect it would be a ton of fun to play with and learn to master.
I, however, will be staring at the board, poking at a castle, and asking to please get off Mr. Chess’ Wild Ride.
