7 Billion Humans
Hang on.
I think this game made me learn something. Sneakily. Addictively.
Technically learned something.
7 Billion Humans is a game that teaches programming in an addictive and catchy way. On each level, the player solves a programming puzzle to move boxes where they need to go. Boxes in pits? No problem! Boxes in shredders? Even better!
Squiggly line? Only minor difficulties!
The player uses commands to program the human workers to do whatever task has been laid out before them. It’s a cute premise - the idea of robots programming humans - and with fun music playing throughout, it’s easy to not get frustrated with the programming puzzles.
Even when you don’t understand why it works
I don’t know much about programming, but the game encouraged me to learn and kept me motivated as I went through puzzle after puzzle. I still don’t think I’m particularly good at programming, but I am good at throwing people into the abyss, which I think is close enough.
On the whole, this is a delightful game that makes learning programming fun and compelling, and I can’t wait to continue to program humanity.
